How Does A Double Block and Bleed Valve Work?
The mechanism behind a double block and bleed valve is very intricate. It consists of two block valves, usually a set of ball, needle valves, that provide isolation from the upstream and downstream flows. In the center of the two block valves, a third bleed valve is positioned to:
- Control flow diversion
- Drain /vent fluid created between the two block valves
- Monitor leakage
- Sample and inject point connections
